Tis’ the time when it starts to get frosty, crisp cool autumn days….errrrrr nope not this year. It’s hot this year, but I will let no weather get in the way of me eating pumpkin pie! The truth is this time last year it was snowing already, and the temps this year right now are in the 60’s! How ridiculous, a girl just wants her frosty autumn days.
Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away and I’m already ready for the feast. Turkey, sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top, green been casserole, buttered corn, rolls, sweet cranberry sauce, some delicious brown gravy made from turkey giblets! Mmmh mmh mmh I cannot wait any longer! My Mom makes the best sides while my Dad is the turkey man.
Not only is there good food but it’s a time to sit back and think about all the things that pass you by on a regular day. Like how lucky I am to have the best family and support system I could get. Through the highs and the lows, as my brothers favorite song says, he’s a big Zombies and Zombies 2 fan. I love making thanksgiving crafts with my little brother, and hanging them on the wall so when Thanksgiving rolls around we can sit back and look at all of the amazing fun we had making the hand turkeys and pilgrim hats and thankful cards.
Thankful cards is something I started for my family about three years ago and I’ve kept doing it. I make cards that say “I’m thankful for…” at the top and all of our family members get one and fill out what they are thankful for. Sometime during Thanksgiving day I read everybody’s cards and it’s just lots of fun.
Thanksgiving with my family is fun and also very exciting.
I also enjoy making festive little floral arrangements.
As always I’m going to leave you with a quote:
“Be present for all things and thankful for all things.”
